The Silene vulgaris or bladder campion is an elegant, wild plant with white, puffed flowers that resemble small balloons. Ideal for wild flower meadows, natural borders and bee and butterfly gardens. The young shoots (before flowering) are edible and popular in Mediterranean cuisines.

Sow directly outdoors in early spring or autumn.

Native to here, it grows best in full sun to part shade in well-drained, dry soil.

With its delicate flowers and ecological value, the Bladder Campion is a beautiful, low-maintenance addition to any garden.
