The Rudbeckia hirta is a colorful prairie plant with large, daisy-like flowers in sunny shades, often with a dark heart. This flower is a magnet for bees and butterflies. 'Cherokee Sunset': large, filled flowers, in yellow and bronze shades. Highly valued as a long holding cut flowers
Perfect for borders, wildflower meadows and cut flower gardens. Also suitable for pots.

Sow directly outdoors in spring or autumn. Cover seeds lightly with soil. Germination takes 7-14 days in warm temperatures.

This plant prefers full sun and well-drained soil. It is drought tolerant and blooms from summer to early fall.

Native to North America, where it grows in open prairies.
